CRISIL Infrastructure Advisory has played a pivotal role in the mining sector by assisting its clients such as State Electricity Boards (SEBs), multilateral institutions, and corporates in areas ranging from sector development, regulation, pricing, risk management, contractual issues in coal imports to captive mining, selection of joint development partner, etc. We have successfully assisted two of the largest power companies in India in selecting and appointing a Mine Developer cum Operator (MDO) for their coal blocks through a transparent international competitive bidding process. In addition, we have rich experience of carrying out demand estimation studies for coal, advising on fuel supply agreements, assisting investors in due diligence of coal blocks, and developing a strategy to exploit coal blocks. CRISIL Infrastructure Advisory has assisted Coal India Ltd. in drafting the Fuel Supply Agreement under the New Coal Distribution Policy.
