After a significant recovery last fiscal, the hospital sector is set to see its vitals return to the pre-pandemic level this fiscal.
The recovery last fiscal rode on Covid-19 and allied treatments during the second wave, and pent-up demand for elective surgeries that were deferred due to the pandemic.
This fiscal - and in the next one - stabilising demand and recovering medical tourism will keep revenue growth in double digits. Operating margin is also expected to print above the pre-pandemic level, though down from the peak of ~19% logged last fiscal.
Buoyed by the healthy medium- and long-term growth prospects, supported by increasing insurance penetration and growing population, hospital operators have stepped up their expansion plans.
