India's media and entertainment (M&E) industry wrote a comeback after the curtains were almost down in early 2020 ... and then came the multiple plot twists in the form of restarts and stops.
As a result, cash registers haven't got back their pre-pandemic ring.
Advertising revenue for the industry, which has a strong correlation with economic growth, has been clawing back with a lag.
The past two fiscals have also seen big changes in the media consumption pattern, which will have a bearing on revenue.
Given this context, some questions that arise are:
Are there structural shifts in the M&E industry's dynamics, or is this a passing saga?
Is there broad-based rebound in the industry or are some sub-segments (TV broadcasting and distribution, digital, print, radio, out-of-home media, and cinema) in a relatively sweeter spot?
For answers, CRISIL Ratings is organising a webinar where its experts will discuss:
Revenue outlook for fiscals 2023 and 2024
Trends in advertisement and subscription revenues across sub-segments
Profitability trends and credit outlook across sub-segments
Changes in the overall industry landscape and emerging themes
This will be followed by a panel discussion by industry experts and a Q&A session.
