Deepti Shibad heads application development, automation, and solution engineering for CRISIL Ratings Technology. She has around 55 application developers working in these teams.

With technology being the backbone of everything we do, her role becomes much more crucial. She is also responsible for various transformation initiatives such as setting up an Agile Centre of Excellence (COE) and Agile practices within CRISIL IT. Thanks to her efforts, Agile has been adopted in 60% of the teams in the last six months.
 

Staying true to the spirit of being the impact, she also ensures process efficiency and tool implementations, making culture changes and managing other people's aspects. This year, she is leading three key central transformation initiatives within Technology, – setting up the project management office (PMO) and governance practices, and a QA (testing) COE.

As the CISO, Maya boosts confidence across CRISIL leadership, clients, internal teams and other stakeholders on the organisation’s InfoSec posture.

She designs, implements and operates business-aligned security solutions. These security tools are vital against malicious attacks. She also ensures that InfoSec risk control framework complies with regulatory requirements and various organisational certifications.

Rising cyber threats and customers' need for secure solutions have made CRISIL’s Board and other senior stakeholders pay more attention to the security portfolio. As the classic statement goes: "Security has moved from the server room to the board room."

As Infosec has become a business differentiator today, it compels Maya and the Security team to work closely with businesses and make security more feasible.
