Summary
A practical approach to credit risk management for effective management of the Corporate, SME and Retail exposures and overcoming challenges faced in adopting and implementing the risk rating framework in the practical banking environment. The workshop also enhances the knowledge and understanding of the various credit risk drivers and facilitates the participants to effectively rate the credit exposures and provide a meaningful scoring/rating for the purpose of various credit decisions. The programme takes the participants through the various pricing models and strategies which enables effective and competitive pricing of the exposures.
Why this programme
One of the success to growth and profitability of a bank depends on the quality of credit decisions taken by its staff. Credit rating is one of the key building blocks of credit risk management and the rating is an important driver for many credit decisions that the bank takes every day. Business of commercial and retail credit and the interest income is driven by the approval of credit limits, pricing and terms of credit – all of which are governed by the credit risk and rating assigned.
Credit rating is the key element in bank’s switching over to advanced measurement approach for credit risk capital. All banks are in the various stages of implementing the advanced measurement approach and improper rating may lead to undermining the whole process of credit risk management, including capital assessment. This calls for a thorough understanding of the various aspects of credit rating and robust implementation of the credit rating system.
