Summary

Program Objectives

The Pandemic has wrought havoc on the supply chains of Industries. It has made corporates sit up and evaluate the robustness and risks in their supply chain. Failure of a component manufacturer due to financial distress, or due to rapid shift in technology and consumer preference / OEM product mix/ Location/disruption of the labour markets, has disrupted the entire supply chain leading to production stoppages/ slippages and consequent opportunity loss. Just in time practices need to be relooked into across entire supply chain; many of them will need to be re-evaluated and restructured. Focus needs to be made not only on the capability of the supplier but also on the liquidity and solvency of key suppliers apart from other factors like supplier’s risk management, location and logistics etc. Contracts and conditions need to be reworked to co-opt and cooperate rather than taking an adversarial attitude in selection.  Supplier Assessment needs to be assessed on multiple parameters one of the key factor being how they manage liquidity/ technology.
