CRISIL Ratings virtual seminar on NBFCs: As rates rise, liabilities back on centre stage

Summary

The resilience of non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) was tested repeatedly in the past three fiscals, with new challenges being thrown at every turn.

Many NBFCs have been able to surmount it all, which is a testimony to their resilience, and private sector NBFCs overall continue to hold over 15% share of the credit outstanding.

Growth, which was sluggish in the past couple of fiscals, should also find a tailwind in the ongoing macroeconomic rebound.

However, a fresh challenge looms - the upturn in the interest rate cycle, which would impact their borrowing cost.

Higher provisioning made over the past couple of years will help the profitability, though. Credit costs, which were elevated to an extent already, are expected to be stable.

CRISIL Ratings believes this is an opportune time to look at the earnings profile movement of NBFCs, and examine the interplay between borrowing costs, lending rates and credit costs.

Given this backdrop, we invite you to a virtual seminar titled, 'NBFCs: As rates rise, liabilities back on centre stage', that would provide stakeholders a platform to deliberate on the sectoral nuances.

The event will have a presentation by CRISIL Ratings experts on

  • NBFC growth and asset quality
  • Fund-raisings of the past and changes in resource profiles
  • The impact of rising interest rates
  • Earnings profile trends

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with leading CFOs from the industry and a Q&A session

Do dial in.
