After a slow start, awarding of road projects, and execution picked up pace in fiscal 2023. While the annual target of project awards was met, execution hit a snarl caused by high commodity prices and heavy rains, among others. This fiscal project awards could be stagnant given sharper focus on execution.
That, in turn, will bode well for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies. While their revenue growth is expected to remain in double digits, it will be on the back of higher debt.
Toll collection was strong in fiscal 2023 due to healthy traffic growth and sharp toll rate hikes. This fiscal, toll collection growth is expected to moderate as traffic growth will mirror growth in the gross domestic product (GDP), and toll rate hikes will normalise in line with tempering in inflation.
In this backdrop, CRISIL invites you to a webinar, where our experts will make a presentation on:
Pace of project awards and trends in execution
Performance of hybrid annuity model (HAM) projects and competitive intensity
Credit perspective and outlook on road EPC companies
Traffic trends and expectations
This will be followed by a panel discussion by industry experts and a Q&A session.
